Fruit Diet Weight Loss

Fruit Diet Weight Loss - healthy and it works too

Due to the lifestyle that is currently practiced by many, taking part in weight loss programs has become more of a norm rather than a precautionary step. A high percentage of the American citizens are suffering from obesity. Most of their regular activities have been disrupted since they are emotionally, physically and financially affected. Moreover, they are at a higher risk of developing various types of life threatening diseases such as diabetes, stroke and heart attack. Fortunately, there are various fruit diet weight loss programs which when strictly adhered to can help individuals lose weight within the shortest time possible.

There is a wide variety of naturally grown fruits to the disposal of individuals. Fruits have a wide array of health benefits because they are highly nutritious. They contain a plethora of vitamins, phytochemicals and minerals which boost the health of individuals. In fact, health care professionals' advice individuals to consume a minimum of five fruit piece every day to attain maximum health benefits. On the other hand, fruits contain low levels of sodium, have high fiber content and are very palatable. These factors make it ideal for weight loss as it enhances the digestion and metabolism rate as well as preventing the body from retaining excess water.

However, the effectiveness of fruit diet weight loss programs depends on the willingness of the individuals to diet and readiness to embark on a calorie reduction program. Individuals should also ensure they do not have any hidden condition such as diabetes or pregnancy that will affect the effectiveness of the diet plan. Moreover, the individuals should be ready to regularly exercise as they diet. About 10 to 15 minutes per day will be enough. Furthermore, they should drink plenty of water approximately eight glasses per day.

The following fruit diet weight loss program helps individuals to lose about 9 to 10 pounds in a period of three days. Astonished? This diet cleanses the body as well as enhancing the digestive system to effectively burn body fat. It is a perfect detox plan. According to nutritionists the nutrients in the fruits dissolve toxins in the body which are then flushed out of the body by the fiber and water present in the fruits. The toxins result from consumption of alcohol, overly processed foods, junk food and a myriad of other artificial ingredients.

This fruit diet weight loss program entails consumption of various types of fruits, lean proteins and vegetables for three days. Individuals should only consume protein shakes the first day. On the second and third day the individuals are supposed to eat fruits after every two hours. This should be accompanied by consumption of vegetables preferably raw and lean protein (a small quantity) as dinner. The diet switches the digestive mechanism to fat-burning mode. Due to protein consumption the muscle are preserved during this process. This diet is very effective and fast unlike other fruit diet weight loss programs. It adds only a small amount of calories usually approximately 900 to 1000 calories for those three days. This is in contrast to the other diet programs that provide about 1,500 calories per day for a period of 14 days.

Natural Pain Relief Tips for Arthritis

I got rid of my arthritis and arthritis pain naturally by drastically changing my diet. I stopped eating the standard American diet (SAD.)

Arthritis sufferers today are continually seeking relief from their arthritis pain.

Osteoarthritis is a chronic disease of the joint cartilage and bone, often thought to result from "wear and tear" on a joint, although there are other causes of arthritis such as congenital defects, trauma and metabolic disorders. Unlike some other types of arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis is not systemic - it does not spread through the entire body. The pain in arthritis can be moderate to severe.

Damaged joints cause pain and sufferers are constantly looking for ways to relieve the pain. Cartilage contains chondrocytes, water, proteoglycans and collagen; chondrocytes are the basic cartilage cells and are necessary for balance and function. The ability to make repairs to cartilage becomes limited as cartilage cells age.

One possible cause of arthritis is the inflammatory response due to the over-reaction of the immune system to an injury or other assault in the body, like an infection. Although osteoarthritis generally accompanies aging, osteoarthritic cartilage is chemically different from normal aged cartilage. As chondrocytes (the cells that make up cartilage) age, they lose their ability to make repairs and produce more cartilage; this process may play an important role in the development and progression of osteoarthritis.

Nutrition experts say it takes a combination of supplements, that no one supplement can relieve arthritis pain, build cartilage, etc. One natural approach is to consume foods that are known to help relieve arthritis pain or prevent arthritis. One natural treatment method involves avoiding all inflammatory foods.

If you're not already doing so, make a big effort to watch your diet. Try avoiding the eight most allergic foods, wheat being the most allergenic; they are wheat, corn, eggs, milk, peanuts, fish, shellfish and some nuts, not all. Natural treatment for arthritis is usually a better choice because it's non-invasive to the body.

Some foods and beverages to avoid that are inflammatory are: caffeine, salt, sugar, meat, dairy products, additives, soft drinks, white flour, white rice, alcoholic beverages, fast food, processed vegetable oils, refined, packaged and processed food. Gluten may be a culprit in arthritic diseases including fibromyalgia; avoid wheat, barley, rye, spelt, triticale, kamut and oats (although not a gluten grain it gets contaminated at the wheat mills).

The first step in managing your arthritis is to change your diet; I think all experts would agree on this. With natural treatments there will be fewer, if any, side effects or adverse reactions.

Whatever you do, keep moving; don't sit when you can stand, don't stand when you can walk. Exercise is good for joints affected by osteoarthritis. Keep a bedside basket of arthritic aids for arthritic hands (Thera-putty, hand grips, Taiji chime balls, etc.) to be used at bedtime or while watching television. A good exercise routine is the key to beating arthritis and arthritis pain.

Use Taiji health balls, with the chimes, to strengthen the finger joints: hold two balls, move in a clockwise circle with your fingers to rotate them, then try counterclockwise and do throughout the day. To be on the safe side always seek your doctor's advice before starting or changing your exercise program. Fight arthritis through proper exercise!

If you're going to go the conventional treatment route and take medications, ask your pharmacist for drug inserts so you can read up on the drugs and understand any side effects or adverse reactions, before taking them. At the very least, understand what the side effects and adverse reactions are for any drug you take. If you're planning to take any of the non-prescription NSAIDS for arthritis, make sure you understand what bad effects they can have on the stomach, liver and/or kidneys and discuss this with your doctor.

Changing your diet to predominately fruits, raw veggies, nuts, and seeds like I did, can turn your arthritis pain around almost overnight. More and more doctors are investigating the benefits of alternative therapies and most don't object to patients trying them. One should not only search for relief of arthritis pain but work on preventing it.

A Proper Diet For Hypertension

Hypertension is usually controlled with a combination of drugs and some special diets; this is because drugs alone do not really help the patient achieve all the needed relief. Since the condition is incurable, the patient is placed on a carefully planned nutrition devoid of the ingredients that aggravate the disease.

When the right type of food is given to the sufferer, he/she would least experience some of the complications; and the rate of relapse is minimized. Diet is of importance in the management of hypertension because if the right drugs are prescribed and the right type of exercise is adhered to, and the patient does not eat the right type of foods, he/she is likely to get little or no relief from the condition.

The proper diet for the hypertensive patient should therefore have less sodium. Sodium is known to retain fluid; it should be reduced but not completely eliminated from the diet since it still has some roles to play in electrolytes balance. It should rather be reduced to about 4gm per day.

The food should also be natural and not artificial because of the fact that artificial foods have a lot of chemical additives that make the individual's health condition worse. Canned foods should not be eaten due to their high sodium content as well.

A proper hypertensive diet should also contain little or no spices which act as stimulants due to the fact that stimulating the patient would lead to extra adrenaline discharge and further elevation of his/her blood pressure.

Foods containing caffeine should also be eliminated from his food regimen. Coffee and strong tea must not make the list. Alcoholic beverages must not be taken as part of the meal or after the meal.

Saturated fats should not be included in the food as they increase the cholesterol level of the blood and worsen the already existing atherosclerosis or arteriosclerosis as the case may be. Red meats and fatty meats like pork should generally not be included in the meal.

While planning the meal therefore, you should remember that foods with a stimulating effect; foods with the ability to retain fluids and foods with artificial additives do not actually help the patient; rather they worsen his condition. Once you have this at the back of your mind, you will be able to come out with a natural diet best suited for him/her.

The diet for hypertension should contain protein, carbohydrate, vitamins, minerals, water and fats in their right proportion. In other words, he/she should eat balanced diets so long as they do not contain those forbidden items.
