How to Cure Arthritis With a Diet

Arthritis is a most debilitating disease, as any of the millions of sufferers will tell you. In constant pain and taking a cocktail of drugs just to be able to have a chance of a normal life. There are new arthritis drugs available now, that are much more effective than the old regime, but to what long term effect... nobody knows!

As I was diagnosed some 20+ years ago, the drugs available then were not very effective, in fact my consultant prescribed anti-inflammatories and pain killers, then told me to get on with my life! My arthritis raged through my body! I was unable to lead a normal life! I had to give up all sport, and struggled to get to work each day, having to take a fistful of pills just to be able to get out of bed! And worst of all,my family bore the brunt of my misery!

Luckily this all changed! I found that certain foods seemed to aggravate the condition, and certain foods seemed to help, and so, over a period of time I developed the anti arthritis diet that finally gave me my life back. I am now pain free, and take no medication whatsoever! 99% of all the swelling has gone. I am able to play squash and golf again, I can do all the things that I thought were impossible a few years ago. If you are an arthritis sufferer, then you have nothing to lose by changing your dietary habits. In fact you could become pain free within weeks! This diet is proven to work!

The Diet involves a certain amount of self will, because once you start there is no going back.......if you want to remain pain free.

There are many things that you will have to give up, for example; coffee, tea, beer, wine, cakes, sweets, and much more. But for each forbidden food there are many other foods to enjoy, for example; most of the fruits, most meat and vegetables, and much more.......so you see, immediately, there are many foods to eat, and many ways to cook them.

Just imagine all the fresh meats and veggies, and the different recipes that you could follow. All the different cuisines, Chinese, Italian, British, Indian, and these are just a few.......the list is endless.

I have a friend who has arthritis, but will not try the diet, because he cannot face the thought of giving up his beer of an evening, and the ambiance of the pub. Of course this is his choice, all I know is that he is still in pain!

If you do nothing, then you remain in pain and potentially crippled. You now have the chance of a life free of pain! Life is all about grasping, and taking the opportunities as they arise. This is your opportunity!

I am an arthritis sufferer, and have been for many years, and I have developed a diet that controls the arthritis to the point where I have very little inflammation, and no pain at all. All this without the aid of any medication.

The diet is proven, and will help you to control both osteo and rheumatoid arthritis. It takes a certain amount of will power to stay on the diet, but I know that I much prefer my diet to the pain and suffering that I had pre-diet. If I am tempted to stray or cheat on the diet....I just recall the dark days of pain.

I am also now able to play some of the sport (squash) that I was unable to when the arthritis was at it's worst. (I was virtually chair bound)

Anybody suffering arthritis, should try this diet, it is very healthy, will probably help you lose weight (if you are overweight), and generally help increase your feelgood factor.

Maintaining Proper Eye Care and Health

Our eyes are incredibly important and in the same respect are extremely fragile. Being so sensitive and exposed the eyes are more susceptible to damage than other parts of our bodies and require proper care and attention. That means protecting them from whatever life can throw at us. From remembering to take out your contacts to using an all natural eye gel instead of a chemically based on are all steps to take in order to ensure you have the healthiest eyes possible. Here are some tips on how to keep your eyes as healthy and youthful as possible.

1. Wear Sunglasses/Sun Screen

Ultraviolet radiation produced from the sun is the number one cause of skin cancer and signs of aging such like wrinkles and sun spots. The harsh light can damage the tissue of your eyes as well if you're not careful. Make sure to always apply a sun screen with an SPF of 40 or higher around the eyes (not in the eyes or the eye lids, but the surrounding area) and the whole body. For extra protection wear a pair of UV protective sunglasses at all times when in direct sunlight to aid in the prevention of fine lines and crow's feet.

2. Take Out Your Contacts

If anyone was ever going to take my advice on something this would be it. Please remember to take out your contacts every night and change them at required intervals as to avoid developing tumors and ulcers of the eye. If you don't take out your contacts proteins build up over the eye leading to ulcers. Years ago I forgot to take my contacts out and didn't pay much mind to them until one day I went to sleep with my contacts in and when I woke up I couldn't open my left eye because the smallest amount of light hurt beyond belief. I almost went entirely blind in that eye. I had a hole develop in my cornea that resulted in me not being able to wear contacts anymore. Also if you're applying an eye gel or facial cleanser take your contacts out first to avoid irritating them. So take out your contacts regularly, trust me it's no fun if you don't.

3. Eat Your Fruits and Veggies

Eating an antioxidant and vitamin rich diet is one of the best ways to promote good eye and overall health. Many of the best fruits and veggies that are rich in antioxidants are also rich in beta carotenes which are found in orange and red pigmented fruits and vegetables. Mangos, oranges, carrots, sweet potatoes, red peppers, and cherries are just a few of the foods you can eat to for your eye health. Beta carotenes promote stronger eye function-ability and good eye sight.

4. Avoid Eye Gels Made With Chemicals

Only the best eye gels are made from the highest quality all natural ingredients that are effective without causing irritation to the skin. The skin surrounding the eyes is very thin and fragile and is more susceptible to damage than other parts of the body. It's important to avoid eye gels or creams that are made with harsh chemicals or artificial fragrances as many of these substances can cause skin irritation and severe allergic reactions. Temporary and permanent blindness as well as other eye complications have occurred in cases when a chemically based eye cream got into the eyes.

It's important to take the best care of our eyes as well as our bodies. Follow these easy to remember and important tips to have the best eye health possible. Remember to always take out your contacts and change them regularly as well as protecting your eyes as best you can from the sun with high quality sun block and sunglasses. Avoid eye gels with harsh chemicals and fragrances as to lessen the chances of allergic reaction or irritation. Make sure to eat plenty of fruits and veggies as to promote a healthy mind, body and healthy eyes.
